Write an essay about first responders in an emergency.

Essay A
First responders in emergency situations are constantly being pushed to confront highly difficult situations, whether they are firefighters, police officers, paramedics, etc. Somehow these professional first responders use stressful situations to their benefits. Using the concept of first responders explain the following: a) defining stress, its process and indicate the differences between acute and chronic stress; b) explain how stress is seen/displayed physiologically (e.g., hormones) and psychologically; lastly c) suggest two lifestyle changes these first responders can make to ameliorate the long-term effects of chronic stress.
Essay B
In this essay first, describe Sigmund Freud’s theory of personality. Once you have done so, think of an individual that has been diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. NPD is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. Those with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they are superior to others and have little regard for other people’s feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism. Using both Freud and Psychological Disorder knowledge, comment on how Freud would categorize/explain an individual with NPD.
Essay C
Mr. Byrne can’t understand why scolding his seventh-grade students for disruptive classroom behavior makes them unrulier. Explain Mr. Byrne’s predicament in terms of operant conditioning principles. Show how he could use operant conditioning techniques to (a) reduce disruptive behaviors and (b) increase cooperative behaviors, and (c) lastly, why was the original scolding eliciting more disruptive behavior. Be sure to use operant conditioning theory.
