Cameras are not allowed in to record U.S. Supreme Court hearings. Justice Alito and Justice Kagan testified before Congress as to why they are opposed to allowing such recordings. Reasons given included the possibility of participant “grandstanding,” and the likelihood that the justices might filter what they say for fear of being misinterpreted. Audio recordings, though, have been made available since 2010. Watch the testimony below and answer the questions that follow:
