The Future of the American Institutions

This summer we have explored many aspects of the American Congress and presidency as portrayed through film. I want you to look beyond the present day to 20, 30, 40 years down the road. What kind of American institutions do you envision? Will the president still be the most powerful political actor in America and the world? Will Congress actually be able to function? Why or why not? What films, books, or essays, that we have watched or others you have come across, inform your future view of the president? How and why?
