1. Throughout this semester, we have looked at stereotypes and how they affect how Indigenous people are viewed. How can we breakdown or eradicate these stereotypes? Outline three stereotypes and how they affect Indigenous Peoples. Students must also explain the historical circumstances or the history people need to know in order to breakdown these stereotypes. Remember, you must make a clear argument.
2. This semester we have discussed Reconciliation. In one of our forums, Yale Belanger and David Newshouse argue that Canada has not yet come to terms with its history. What does this mean and why must we come to terms with our history? Students must then outline 3 eras or events we need to come to terms with and how this would aid in Reconciliation.
Essay MUST include an outline which includes the student’s thesis argument, 3-4 points they plan to make, and a conclusion.
