Assignment extract:

hi there,
this report has to include information that you cant find on google in 15 min search only and be straight to the point.

1. check the attachment for writing exceptions (rubric marking).
2. check the attachment for the report construction. ( important results have to be in the report, secondary results to the appendix, all the figures and tables equations appendix have to be referred int he text )
3. Tomorrow I will give you the papers that you need that you might need for literature review
4. I will give you the design and results on Sunday.

if you need anything please contact me and I should get back to you shortly. the report due Wed 5 pm Australia time but definitely I need it before the due date.

I need a draft every  day in order to keep tracking, it is a critical report, please.

Week 9 Mechanical Design Project Abdel GHANNAM
Feedback NEM 4420 4515809
1. Hayden asked about the material, why cannot I use “GLARE” instead of fibreglass (Sglass)?
Ans: – Glare has more strength than the fibreglass, but it is costly. Also, it is only
manufactured in European countries. Due to the cost factor, Glare will not be considered as
the appropriate material for this application.
2. Yev, Johnny, Luke, and Dr. Matthew (Supervisor) asked the tip nose cone (impact
attenuator cover), why is it two parts?
Ans: – it was split into two parts for manufacturing purposes
Then Yev, Luke, and Supervisor strongly advised to combine the 2 components as it will able
to help absorbing the impact energy.
Ans: – the idea of having two components for an easy access to inspect the impact
attenuator as the front wing will mount on the side of the frame. Thereby, it would be a
struggle to remove the tip for inspection. However, I will combine it as three votes against
one
3. John asked about the total mass, what is the total mass of the components?
Ans: – 18 Kg
Then Supervisor said the components are overweight and can be optimized.
Ans: – it will be optimised by reducing the wall and surfaces thickness of all the
components except the tip of the nose cone.
4. Muhammad Shahryar asked about the drag and downforce, what is the forces for the
final design?
Ans: – 30N for downforce and 12N for drag.
Note: – The forces results might change slightly because the design must change in order to
meet the rules. The new design will be ready earlier next week along downforce, drag, and
max deflection.
Modifications required in order to finalise: –
1. Re-design the components in order to meet the rules
2. Combing the tip of nose cone into one component
3. Reduce the mass of the shell
