Overview
In groups, (maximum of 4), students will develop a digital media strategy for the event ‘Road Raise’. Using
theory presented in workshops as a basis, students will be assessed on the depth and accuracy of the content,
originality and visual quality.
Scenario
Road Raise was founded in 2015 to raise vital funds and awareness for CanTeen. The event is a 7 day bike ride
from Adelaide to Melbourne. The organisation currently engages in a variety of social media initiatives. You are
tasked with:
– Critiquing current digital media initiatives
– Identifying and explaining avenues for further improvement
– Detailing an envisioned return on investment (including implementation costings)
As a starting point, your digital media strategy should encompass the ‘four cornerstones of successful digital
strategy’ as discussed in week 5:
– Collecting meaningful data from your consumers
– Analysing and drawing insights from consumer data
– Maximising the reach and impact of social media
– Building a strong, integrated and professional website

Oral Presentation (10 to 15 minutes)
The pre-recorded oral presentation is the ‘visual’ overview of digital media strategy. It is designed to:
– Offer a summation of the recommendations
– Provide an initial introductory level of explanation of key initiatives
– Show that the group has understand the event, the event needs and the competitive environment
Written Report
The written report includes:
– The technical requirements for strategy implementation
– Justification of each new initiative based on theoretical underpinnings
– Explanation of current critique based on theoretical underpinnings
– Detailing of expected return on investment (including implementation costing
