If you are writing Comparative Analysis, review the following:

Lecture: How to Organize and Structure a Comparative Analysis Essay

Because the structure of Comparative Analysis is very specific, I have provided a few resources here to walk us through the steps of how to construct the structure of our compare/contrast essays.

In the following video, Lisa uses a few terms though that I want to make sure we have an understanding of. She breaks down three different styles of compare and contrast while I mainly outline two. For our purposes when she uses the familiar term block, it matches our block term. When she uses the term alternating and integrated, we can understand these terms to mean the same as point-by-point. These are both versions of the point-by-point structure for comparative analysis.

The next video breaks down more philosophically the why about how you set up comparative analysis the way you do, so consider the following when you are deciding how to set up your essay.

The following is a worksheet that you can use to plan your essay structure and organization if you are a person you enjoys or needs an outline.
