Response on Christian Health Administrator.
As previously stated, it is impossible to avoid change. As the world evolves, people become smarter, and techniques become quicker and easier to perform. To stay ahead of an emerging world, leaders must be proactive and prepare for this change. We are aware that certain skill sets are needed to take on this journey, such as integrity, maturity, and abundance mentality. These skills assist with understanding the bigger picture of caring for sick and needy while being drowned in stress. However, nothing stays the same. Being creative will open doors that initially wasn’t there. The mindsets of many individuals have become self-centered in terms of employment. The Bible states, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12;2, New King James Version). As a Health Administrator, there are many decisions to be made that will affect the organization as a whole. This profession pays a decent salary. However, an issue arises, where people get in this position only for the money and not execute their job to the best of their ability. If this behavior continues, the success of the business will eventually begin to decline. Covey discusses seven deadly sins in his text. Wealth without work is one of the seven deadly sins. Covey (1992) states, “Wealth without work refers to the practice of getting something for nothing-manipulating markets and assets, so you don’t have to work or produce added value, just manipulate people and things” (p. 87). This continuing behavior will lead to lost trust and respect. Without everyone on the same page, the organization will fall apart, and the administrator will not be viewed as a good fit for the position.
