Research Proposal

After reviewing chapter 16 “Writing Proposals” on pp. 422 – 447, write a proposal of 5 – 8 pages using at least 2 research materials based on one of the examples in question 3 on pp. 446 – 447. Notice that in a sample paper on a proposal which appears on pp. 439 – 445, there are several important sections. They are:

(1.) Purpose (2.) Summary (3.) Introduction (4.) Proposed Tasks (5.) Schedule (6.) Budget (7.) Experience (8.) Reference

All of these parts or sections to the proposal paper are defined and described in the chapter on pp. 431 – 438. Review the definitions and descriptions of the parts and compare this information to the sample paper provided in the book. Then select a topic that you feel comfortable with from question 3 in this chapter and write a paper that includes all of these parts and sections. Approach this paper in several ways: First develop an outline that includes a main idea statement. Then organize facts details, examples, Illustrations, quotations, and statistics to back up and support the main idea statement. Then create a conclusion which includes the anticipated end product and results of this proposal. Apply this information to the parts and sections of a proposal that are mentioned in this chapter.
