Prepare a comparison narrative of one text you have studied to an outside one
Topic: Choose an author and his or her work that we have studied this semester and compare it to an outside text. This text is your choosing, and can be one of the following: a short story, a poem, a play, a film, or a song. In your essay, you need to explain what makes these two texts similar by focusing on the literary elements we’ve learned in class, like: plot, theme, character, setting, conflict, context, and figurative language.
Important: Your TWO sources should be the following: 1. the text we studied 2. the outside text.
Remember: Essays will be in response to course reading. Essays must be typed, double-spaced, in Times New Roman Font size 12, with your name, date, and the assignment title in the upper left-hand corner of page one. Your last name and the page number should be on the top right-hand corner of each page, and follow all the rules of MLA formatting. Essays must be at least 1,000 words (unless otherwise noted). Late papers will be accepted for one class meeting after the established deadline, with a 10-point deduction
