ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION
Assignment
2017
Preparation
For this project, you will be assigned to a team whose members will serve as Organization Consultation Specialists. Your task is to analyze the communication problems related to small group or organizational communication within your research company.
Your underlying task is to demonstrate to me that you understand the concepts of communication within organizations. To do this, you will need to define and explain appropriate communication terminology. This assignment offers you an opportunity
(a) To apply your theoretical understanding of group problem solving skills
(b) To present your ideas in a convincing way, using Feasibility Report format
Hints: you could think of communication problems that one of your teammates has experienced in an organization. The communication problem must fit the following requirements:
- the problem must be a communication problem
- the communication problem your team selects must be a problem that involves communication among members of a “work team”
- this must be a problem that one of your team mates has actually experienced or is experiencing (in other words, a real world problem, not a make-believe problem)
But this hint does not really constrict what communication problems you focus or organizations occur but an example and direction you could manage. It was one of those roles that had just never been analyzed and for which no problem description addressed. This was not an identified problem until the day you focus. It was then that the organization realized they had a problem.
Questions
- Describe the history and background of a company you are analysing.
- Describe the company’s communication set up.
- Scrutinize the potential communication problems with the organization.
- Discuss the advantages of the communication system of the organisation.
- Make recommendations based on your findings for solving the identified communication problems and for further improvement.
