Moral compassing Responses.
A Christian worldview leads Christian health administrators to serve others, displaying respect, promoting trust, and contribute to the improvement of society. The administrator’s ethical behavior should demonstrate fair treatment and strong integrity for morally doing what is right. “Integrity is the quality of being morally upright and always acting openly and honestly” (Porter-O’Grady & Malloch, 2015, p. 406). Moral compassing refers to doing what is right and the integrity to display actions in an acceptable matter. Christian health administrator needs to utilize moral compassing for growth in the healthcare organization and gain the trust of the employees. Leaders are not perfect and have the potential for mistakes, but when decisions are based on moral compassing, administrators have fewer errors.
Moral compassing is an initial start of good leadership and gaining the trust of the employees. The foundation of trust leads employees to be faithful to accomplishing organizational goals and working together as a team, less conflict. Personal values also play an important role in moral compassing. Values should reflect a responsible leader who is dedicated to the well-being of the employees and the healthcare organization. An effective and efficient leader will accept feedback as a way of growing and strengthen skills. “Honest feedback given to a leader and recognition for work accomplished fuels the leader’s passion for doing his or her job” (Porter-O’Grady & Malloch, 2015, p. 407). Moral compassing helps an administrator not to waiver in an uncertain environment but to stand on principles and Christian values to make the best decision for the organization.
