Some of my influences on the perception would be the president of the united states of amercia, He hold the perception that the media is all lies and sad news all the time, He really influences these point’s of perception to me, And I agree with it. Some of the role’s I believe to play a hug part, would becoming assertive, Flexible and personal, Never focus on argument rather actions to resolve there problems, I believe that perception would be the foremost factor in the setting, Some of the steps that should be taking before making perceptual error’s would be to give your self a self perception, Know what you have troubles with and trying to fix it the best possible way you would know how and always stay claim and ask for help from total strangers, I would defiantly work on my contrast effect, How we are perceive one another in a work place throw Rank, time and grade, And a cupel of other effects. Like not hesitating when you know you have the right answer or you know what the solutions are to the problem I guess I would have to say inner confidence would be Para mounted here.

Perception is process of selection, organizing, and interpreting information (Jones, 2013). Perception is all about how we see things. Our perceptions can be right, or they can be wrong. Our brain automatically makes perceptions about everything. Our brain is wired to be a predicting tool (Jones, 2013). It takes all the past experiences we have had and makes predictions from those experiences with similar events or people.
Some of the major influences on perception are environmental and physical influences (Jones, 2013). Environmental influences are all about the things that people decide to surround themselves with. This means they type of furniture they have, the arrangement of the furniture, and the people they surround themselves with. These are all major environmental influences. Physical influences are all about the way a person looks or dresses. The person is perceived by the type of clothing they decided to wear, whether its nice and clean or dirty and grungy. Even someone wearing a lab coat could be seen as a person of intelligence in a professional setting.
I think physical influence plays the primary role in professional setting. You are more likely to put your trust and time in with a person that looks the part. The book talks about an experiment that I think proves this point. The experiment was with a bunch of people that were told to shock another human being. The person telling these people to shock another human being was wearing a lob coat pretending to be a doctor, but he was just an actor. The people believed him and kept shocking the other human until they became unresponsive (Jones 2013). Of course, there was on other human, but they person did not know this and continued shocking anyway because the man in the lab coat told them to. They even heard the screams of the other human. I think this helps to prove that someone’s physical appearance has a major influence of people’s perceptions. I feel this perception is the same even in personal settings.
Step that should be taken to avoid perceptual errors are know the types of perceptual errors that we make. The two types of perceptual errors are fundamental attribution error and self-serving bias. The fundament attribution error is our tendency to explain others’ behaviors using internal rather than external attributions (Jones, 2013). The self-serving bias is a perceptual error through which we attribute the cause of our successes to internal personal factors while attributing our failures to external factors beyond our control (Jones, 2013). By knowing these perceptual errors and being aware of them, we can watch for them and start to process of learning to not do them. This will begin the process of avoiding perceptual errors.
