Assignment 2 – Case Study Report
● This assignment will assist you to identify and develop key social work knowledge and skills
necessary for completing a social work assessment report and an intervention plan with
individuals. This assessment covers unit material from Week 4 – Week 9. It comprises of
two parts.
● Part A is the template for writing your assessment report (Word limit 1000 words). You
required to complete the report template using the multidimensional assessment
framework (Harms, 2010) taught in this unit. In formulating your assessment of the client’s
situation, you will also provide a rationale for your assessment using the assessment
approaches taught in this unit.
● Part B poses two questions. Firstly, you are asked to discuss the intervention practice
models that would inform your work with the client. This should be no more than two
intervention practice models covered in this unit (eg. strengths based; empowerment and
advocacy approaches; task centred, crisis intervention or solution – focused approaches etc)
[600 words]. The second question requires you to discuss one professional/personal value
or belief that is relevant and important for your engagement and assessment with the client
(400 words).
● A choice of cases will be placed on LEO in Week 6. The report template will also be
provided via LEO and is not included in the word count for your assignment.
● A minimum of 7 references is required for this assignment. These references should
include unit readings to demonstrate your understanding of key theoretical approaches and
