What is the Business Concept? A concise description of an opportunity that contains four essential elements: the
customer definition; the value proposition; the product/service; and the distribution
channel.
1. what is the business idea?
Small businesses were affected heavily because of the pandemic, causing some businesses to
close down. One of them was the dry cleaning / tailoring business. With the cancellation of
special events or an occasion that involve large gatherings, no one has had a reason to go to
the dry cleaners / tailors. Now that some states are in phase 4 of the recover from the
pandemic, some dry cleaners have been able to re-open for business. Large gatherings are
now reoccurring but are following the social distancing protocols to ensure the safety of
everyone. The only main factor is finding ways to avoid contact with others at a dry cleaner.
With that being said, my idea involves creating a drop and go system like how amazon has their
returns. This drop and go system will allow clients to drop their clothes off in a bin, scheduling
the drop off and pick up’s will be filled out through a form which will be through an online basis.
With tailoring, the client will have to schedule an appointment with the tailor and following safety
procedures such as wearing a face mask at all times, using hand sanitizer before and after the
appointment. Checking the temperature of the client can also be implemented to ensure both
the tailor and the client’s safety.
2. What is the pain the business idea will relieve?
This business idea will allow dry cleaners to continue generating revenue and avoid having
employees being laid off as well as their businesses closed down.
3. Who is the customer, and who is the consumer? (these may be the same person)
The customer is anyone who is using the service, either the dry-cleaning service or the tailor
service.
4. What does the market look like?
Currently with the Pandemic occurring, a good number of dry cleaners have closed due to the
lack of business. With the cancellation of events, it has negatively impacted this business
substantially.
