Marijuana

Also, known as cannabis, Marijuana is a psychoactive drug that is obtained from cannabis plants and is consumed for varied reasons. Cannabis active compound called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is responsible for the effects it causes Cannabis can be smoked, vaporized, consumed in food or as an extract. Marijuana leaves, seeds, stems, or roots are consumed for intoxication. Cannabis consumption is harmful to both the socio and economic life of an individual. I have witnessed its effects through individual experiences in my real life where I witnessed it deteriorate the quality of life of family members and colleagues in the place of work. This essay discusses the history of the drug, its neurobiology, current issues concerning marijuana and how it has influenced the counseling/helping professions. It concludes with a brief summary of the key findings or thoughts of the essay and restates my original statement
