4. Two sample t-test (Part 3)
5. Chi-square test (Part 3)
6. Simple linear regression analysis (Part 4)
7. Multiple linear regression analyses (Part 4)
Be sure to make any corrections to your analyses recommended in the feedback you received on Parts 1-4.
Your Word document should include the following sections:
Introduction & Purpose: (1 paragraph) In this section, you will briefly state the overall purpose of your analyses of the MEPS data. Include a brief justification explaining why this question is important for healthcare organizations (either your own or others).
Data & Methods: (1-2 paragraphs) In this section, you will briefly describe your sample.
Note the original data source and highlight 2 or 3 key features of your sample as shown in Table 1 (Descriptive Statistics). Briefly describe the hypothesis tests you conducted for the two sample t-test, chi-square test and 3 linear regression analyses.
Findings: (1-2 paragraphs) In this section, you will briefly describe the findings of your hypothesis tests for the two sample t-test, chi-square test and 3 linear regression analyses as shown in Table 2 (Linear Regression Results). For brevity, focus on the findings for the key independent variable for the linear regression analyses (vs. control variables).
Conclusions & Limitations: (1-2 paragraphs) In this section, you will briefly discuss the implications of your analyses. What can you learn about the association between having health insurance and healthcare utilization from your analyses? Do your findings align with what you expected to find, given your knowledge of health economics and your past research or experience? If there are inconsistencies, how would you explain them?
Also briefly describe 2 or 3 limitations of your analyses.
Reflection: (1-3 paragraphs) In this section, you will write a brief reflection on your
experience completing Module 5 and working on the Final Assignment. The content of this section is up to you, but here are a few questions and ideas to help you get started:
• What was the most challenging part of the Final Assignment for you? The most interesting?
• How did your group work experiences contribute to your learning in the Module? To your ability to complete the Final Assignment?
• What synergies or differences do you see between the economics and quantitative methods material covered in the Module?
• What questions do you still have about economics and quantitative methods?
• What issues or questions do you see in your organization that could be addressed with the approaches discussed in the Module?
