Explain the Impacts of Teacher and Parent Relationships

This assignment builds on our discussions about topics and research questions for your action-
research proposal: the final assignment for this class. The required length of this first assignment

is (about) three double-spaced pages. Please note that assignments turned in late risk being
penalized for each class they’re overdue, unless we agree beforehand on an extension.
Please respond to all the points below:
What is the general issue or overall topic that interests you?
What is a specific research question that you wish to investigate?
Why have you chosen this particular question? In other words, what is the problem that
makes this aspect worth investigating?

Is it a certain, provable problem, or an assumed one? What leads you to your conclusion?
What population would be the focus of your research project? For instance, what grade,
what geography, and/or which organization (school, after-school program, and so on)?

Why do you wish to focus on that particular location and/or demographic?

As you develop Assignment #1, be sure to consider the following:
Does your assignment reflect the hallmarks of good, clear writing? More specifically, are your
paragraphs cohesive, with logical transitions from one idea and sentence to the next? And have
you proofread your work for correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling?
