Covid-19 should be an important aid priority in Africa-Discuss

Students will research and write an essay of 3000 words addressing one of five provided research
questions (below). If you want to develop your own research question you are permitted to do so
provided you discuss with the course convenor first.

1. Development programs should become obsolete with rising incomes. Argue for or against.
Identify a middle-income country (available at World Bank database) that still receives development
programs; discuss why this country does/does not require development assistance.

2. Development programs should focus on the individual not the state. Identify a case and discuss.

3.What is the role of information, communication and technology in development assistance
programming? Identify a case and discuss.

4. Investment in (select one) SDG is essential to achieve progress in the remaining 16 goals. Identify
a SDG target and discuss.

5. Covid-19 is the most important aid priority. Australian investment should be targeted in country
XXX to address XXX. Identify and discuss.
