Rights are demanded for the Chicano schools be given the same level of education as the Anglos. In this political process the game is changed for the Chicanos. As revolutions come, so do individuals, Argentina, Cuba, Columbia, and Brazil are the fastest growing countries. By the 1950s there were 159 million Latin Americas, and only ten years later those numbers went up to 200 million. (Chasteen p253). Along with revolution, the demand for civil rights shook up society. Segregation nationwide, discrimination during the depression, as well as a lack of equality after WWII. (Mod 6)
